The Union of Relief and Development Associations signed a memorandum of understanding with Talents beyond Boundaries Organization on Wednesday 26th/10/2016.
The MoU aims to establish a framework for cooperation between URDA and TBB to register Syrian refugees who are interested in job opportunities available in the private international sector as a part of a pilot project launched by TBB to link those who are displaced by conflict and residing in Jordan and Lebanon with jobs in countries around the world where their skills are needed.
The MoU will allow TBB to conduct information sessions in URDA collective shelters to introduce the project to Syrian refugees. In addition, URDA will assist in the outreach efforts by spreading the word of TBB’s new initiative and referring participants to the online Talent Catalog.
The Catalog asks refugees to provide information about their employment experience, credentials, education, and language capabilities, with the purpose of sharing it with the collaborating corporates, and thus forming a link between talents and jobs.
TBB’s pilot project plans to initially match 30 people who have the skills needed by corporations abroad. However, this first step would pave the way for scaling up the project to connect tens of thousands of displaced people to international employment around the world.
